The Symptoms of the issue depends on the type of salivary
gland disorder. These are:
• Symptoms of Tumors: A slow-growing lump in the
cheek, under the chin, on the tongue or on the roof of the mouth is the very
first sign of the salivary gland tumor. This lump/s could be painful too.
• Symptoms of Cyst: Presence of a fluid filled
lump that is painful. The cyst could be fairly big in size also and causes
irritation and discomfort while eating.
• Symptoms of Sialolithiasis: Presence of a painful
lump in the salivary gland is the common symptom
• Symptoms of Sialadenitis: Presence of a painful
lump that could grow a foul smelling fluid or pus. The infection may also cause
fever and chills.
• Symptoms of Sjogren's syndrome: Swelling of the
salivary glands, dry eyes, dry cough and a dry mouth are the common symptoms to
look for in Sjogren's syndrome. In some cases the salivary glands may swell up
too and get infected.
• Symptoms of Sialadenosis: Swelling of the parotid
glands on both sides of the face is the most common symptom to look for. These
glands may or may not pain at all.
• Symptoms of Viral infections: Fever, Chills,
weakness, body ache along with pain in the gland are the common symptoms
